Hi all!
I'm new to this site and to the world of ADHD. My son is 6 years old and was diagnosed with ADHD in January. We've had quite the roller coaster ride and it itsn't over yet. I suspected something was not right when he was 3 years old. The pediatrician kept reassuring me he was normal and would grow out of it.
He started on Strattera in January and for the first month and a half we were so excited that it was working. Then as quickly as it started working, it stopped. We've upped the dose as much as we can(he's tall, but very skinny) and it still isn't working. The dr. now is putting him on Welbutrin. She says it will help with the anger, rages and impulsivity.
My question is, does anyone have experience with Welbutrin and ADHD? I look forward to your response.
Thank you
Kathleen
Hi my son is 8 and has A.D.H.D and O.D.D we just got off wellbutrin. My son was taking ritalin la 30mg,clonidine .01mg, and wellbutrin 100mg. He did well on the wellbutrin at first, then after about 2 months on it he became real emotional, crying all the time, etc, then he started talking about death and being dead, our psychiatrist immediatly took him off the wellbutrin and his dark thoughts were gone! But we still deal with the depression problems, we just recently started a new one last night called abilify, anyways good luck to you maybe your result will be much better than ours, everyone reacts differently, just watch for excessive crying, and talking about death and saying stuff like i wish i was dead or i wish i was never born, etc.
