Godzilla![]() This is so funny. Some of the things my son has obsessed about make us laugh, but sometimes after a while they get old. Currently my son is obsessed with Godzilla. The problem is that he wants us to watch these movies with him. The funny thing is that he thinks we should like everything he likes and we should want to do everything he wants. The problem with this is that we usually are not interested in what he is interested in. Luckily, the Godzilla obsession will pass like everything else. Another funny thing is that a few weeks ago he wanted to go to Wal-Mart to buy something. We told him "no". Of course he continued to insist and we continued to say "no". Finally he said "if I don't get it today I may not want it tommorrow." It never ends!!! my daughter is 8 and she has obsessed over the strangest things.... woooly mammoths metiorites and now egypt...my husband and I joke alot about us hoping it never turns to boys! For my son, it's the show "American Chopper" on Discovery Channel. He draws choppers....collects the toys...talks about motorcycles nonstop.
But for a seven year old to sit and draw motorcycles for thirty minutes is a good thing in my opinion. I know this obsession all too well. For my daughter its the TV show Reba. I even went as far as getting her the DVD set of the first season. BIG MISTAKE. LOL We watched Reba from the time we got home till bed time. She loves the song "I'm a Survivor". I thought I would never watch any thing else again. I went to bed every night sing "I'm a Survivor". Hang in there. If you start roaring then its time to worry. [QUOTE=redball2] I'd flee to Toyko but I'd be scared Godzilla might show up, give me another headache with the roar, and make my son even more obsessed with his flicks! Don't go to Tokyo, Godzilla hates Tokyo. And so does Mothrar. You could bore him out of it by explaining Godzilla represents the helplessness Japanese felt at being nuked. My son's current fixation is Pokemon. We have the movies, the cards, the videogames, the toys. He has talked to me about Pokemon so much, that I know more about Pokemon than it is healthy for any parent to know about!!!
