I am a speech language pathologist.  I am currently researching the link between ADHD/ADD and speech and language disorders.  If you have any information it would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you

My daughter is 8 years old and still has a speech problem.  She she was diagnosed with ADHD at 3.  I do notice when she takes concerta she is more articulated but less focused with this med.

My 8 year old daughter speaks clearly, but insists on talking in Baby Talk and in one word responses instead of complete sentences.  These are both better when medicine is in effect.  She was diagnosed at age 5, and is currently taking Ritalin LA.hi, my son was diagnose speech delay at a early age of 3 1/2yrs and now at 7 yrs old just has gotten diagnosed with central auditory processing disorder along with adhd. For the past week he has been on concerta but he is still having great difficulty in school. I think his speech delay was mostly caused by his central auditory problem How is central auditory process diagnosed and what kind of specialist can make this diagnosis?Carie516

Central Auditory Processing Disorder is done by a hearing specialist, and there is nothing much they can do for it. A child that has this basicly has trouble with background noises and with this has trouble hearing the words actually spoken. In my son's case his CAPD is so bad that its almost like he's not hearing anything at all, he cant make out much words when there is background noisesfadomira38089.3513888889My 5 year old son has troubles pronouncing his words and has a limited vocabulary. He was diagnosed this year and is taking Ritalin and his speach and focus seems to improve while he is on it.
