Need Help

OK, let me start off by saying that I love my hubby.  I don't want to come across as just being a whiney-a**  with no compassion for the issues related to ADD.  My hubby was dx about 2yrs ago after I begged him to go see someone about his problems (very forgetfull, compulsive spending, short attention span, even shorter fuse with inappropriate anger etc.) Well, of couse the doc told him he had ADD and gave him Rx.  HUbby won't take the meds.  Twice, he has taken them for about a week and said they made him feel much better.  But then he says that he never needed them before and he doesn't need them now. This man's life has been one disaster after another! OUr marraige is a shambles, as well as our finances.  Won't go to couseling.  HELP!  Hi There, my partner also has ADD, you have my sympathy. He takes his meds (but doesn't like to) Many ADD folks think they can be in control of it themselves. They can't but its a control issue. Have you considered going in for counseling yourself and finding a way for yourself off the ADD merry-go-round? There are so many other disorders that have grown under the ADD umbrella. It is hard for the person to address them. We go to counseling which helps a little bit. Hang in there.

I can so relate, my husband has it but has not been official.  I noticed the behaviors and the tempers and when our daughter was diagnosed with ADHD in school I began reading and researching and realize I am dealing with two.  When finances get hard and troubles hit he is nowhere to be found does not want to deal with it and the yelling increases.  I fear for my child is like her father and I want him to model good behaviors like I do for her.  My husband has reveled all the telltale signs of ADD yet will not do anything about it.

Here is my plan for you to try as well is tell him if you love me and want things to work get help.  I know myself patience is running thin although love keeps you fighting.  Good luck
