Adderall Concerns | ADHD Information

Aaron,

I definitely relate - I started taking Adderall ~ 7 mos. ago and I still have to constantly "rate" how I feel.  Am I too focused, not focused enough; am I blah or in a peppy/happy mood.  I'm also taking Zoloft (anxiety) and w/ this combo its the best I've felt since being diagnosed w/ ADD, but it still isn't perfect.  I tend to metabolize the Adderall quickly, so I take 30mg 3x a day and it still doesn't last all day.  However, with all that said I would rather be on both drugs and they be inconsistent than not take them at all.  I am so much more aware of my surroundings, less apathetic, and less stressed/anxious.

As for any bodily issues, when I first started taking Adderall I developed really bad BO.  Every once in a while it will surface, but not very often.  I have no advice regarding your sudden shyness around girls.  Maybe Adderall decreases your impulsiveness or lack of awareness of your surroundings (you may not have this issue, but I use to go through life w/ blinders on).

Did you try any meds before Adderall??

Good luck!

Hello my name is Aaron and I have been taking adderall for about five years for my ADHD and have experienced so many things on it but I am still questioning it's effects on my mind and body. Here are some to name a few. Does anyone feel like it makes your body produce more oil, especially on face and back and causes acne. I ask this because when I am on it I have acne but say I quit taking it for a month the acne seems to go away. This can be a real blow to my confidence because we all know acne sucks but so does getting bad grades which seems to happen when I am not taking my meds. When it comes to sex I have the desire but it seems like the adderall makes me nervous around girls. Let's just say that I am extremely shy around women and I feel this is the adderall and not me because most ADHD people like myself  tend to be extroverted. I don't know what to do sometimes. I think we all question the meds we put in our system and what they truly do to us. For me taking adderall is like a game of tennis. A back and forth game of why I should continue to take it or to discontinue its use. Can anybody out there relate?
