Hello,

I am new to this sight but looking for a good support group to help us deal with life with add/adhd as a family.

I am 36 and myself and my oldest son (14) were Dx 1 1/2 years ago. I have a 9 yr old Dx 1 yr ago with dyslexia. and ADHD. Now my youngest a girl , she is 8 , her teacher says she very unorganized and is daydreaming or zoning out in class and she would not be able to go to 3rd grade if things did not improve ALOT now! Its so unfair to my kids and now they need my help and I cant even help myself right now. I have been absorbing anything I can get my hands on about ADD. I didn't really know what it was until I read a book (women with attention deficit disorder by sari solden) I have cried through half of it mainly because I'm not crazy... But I have realized now I can't do this by myself , Unfortunately there are not allot of Adult Add Dr's. where I live in AL , I did make an app at psychiatrist and getting a referral for a therapist next Tues. But I know I can't help my children until I get help MYSELF. I need a Mentor if anyone knows of someone let me know.I'll be reading all the tips and post. I hope THIS works for us and we get the help we need.
