Moody Children | ADHD Information

Ok now our son is only 6 but he's gotten a 'really' rotten attitude at times. Is this just the 'age' or is it more? I read post here about other children being disrepectful and 'mouthy' but at 6???? Where in the world do they learn this stuff? TV? School? It's like he's 2 people sometimes...our loving, gentle, caring, sweet son; then there's the 'other' son that lives here and he pounds his fist on the sofa because he doesn't want to do a breathing treatment. This is nothing new to do these treatments; he's been doing them whenever there's a cold/cough situation. This morning he woke up (well I wake him up) and he seemed ok; until he came out of the bathroom from pottying and said he wasn't hungry...ok I replied but we do need to do a breathing treatment before you brush your teeth...well heaven forbid...you'd have thought I was holding him down and sitting on him...he said he didn't wanta do it.  Which of course he 'needed' it and was still doing it but pulled the hose from the mask (on his face) and wouldn't put it back in; so I had to do it and told him that he 'needed' this and NOT to pull it back out...well for 4 minutes he continued to argue with himself because I refused to have a conversation with him pounding his fist on the sofa. I just let him know that when he finished his treatment we were gonna have a lil' chat. BEFORE he finished treatment he said ok now I'm hungry; I said well when you finish your treatment you can eat...ohhhh heavens; here we go again....ok so he ate (very little) and brushed teeth and got dressed (this took about 20 min.) just to brush teeth and get dressed (this is all the time though; nothing new). But  we went to the fair yesterday and he got this little toy in the circus that lights up (it's in my purse) and he asked could he take it to school and I let him that school was not the place for it but when I pick him up from school that I'll bring it. Well... 8:25 and time to go: I had to potty so I came out of bathroom and he had went in my purse and gotten the toy...A big NO NO here to go in mommy's purse. I just stood and looked at him and he put it on top of my purse and hung his head. I asked what was wrong and he said I'm sorry. Well...sure he's sorry; but what's up with all this MOODINESS??? It's like if I talk upbeat and really, super nice he gets an attitude! Some days...somedays not. I mean gezzzzzz he's going to school so I just let him know that you shouldn't go in mommy's purse and he said he knew that and that he was sorry; so I accepted his apology and got me a hug...and off we went. Ok: (stepping off now) what's up with this???? A 6 yr. old with an attitude? I don't get it.

Moody child : I notice do to low blood sugar. Depakote with other has helped.We are doing a over all blood test next visit.Check everthing I'm going to request. Our Dr. is wonderful we have now. Internal medacine specialist.See everyone. We love it there. Great listener. Past experience haven't all listened well.rshn
