My name is Shannon. My son is 6 years old. He is ADHD. Now I have a couple of questions. First who diagnoses ADHD, and how is he regulated on meds? Let me explain.
My sone began taking metadate he became very depressed, he didn't play, he didn't barely talk he was completely unsociable. I explained my concerns to his doctor and we lowered the dose, but when we did that it was ineffective. I didn't like the results. My friend told me about Adderall XR. His behavior was much better, but when it wore off he would become mean, and he would do horribly naughty things, is this normal? Well then I went to pick up his script today and the Dr. has removed him off the Adderall because it has been banned. Just recently my son developed a heart murmur, but now the doctor has him taking Straterra, he hasn't started it yet, I am confused and I do not know what to do.
My question is in the warnings of Straterra it states if possible heart or liver problems do not take straterra, dr. wants me to give it to him, he does not do well at school at all without medicine.
Very Confused.
Someone please help me.
