My dr. has Rx'ed me Dex recently (also taking adderall earlier in the day). How much do you take a day and how long does it last???

My son 7 took Dex last year - side affects - stomach pain, withdrawn, moodiness, obsessive behaviour, loss of appetite, racing heart.
I am currently on Dexedrine (also known as Dexamphetamine) and I am fine. Mind you I am also a 29 y/o female :o) It was the first drug my doctor prescribed and it was a life saver for me. The only side effects I have are decreased appetite and dry mouth. But for me it has allowed me to focus, complete things, stop the impusivity etc etc.
I don't think a lot of people on this board are on Dex actually...but I would give it a try, a lot of people that have tried it have had success with it. :o)

my son had been on ritilan but it gave him sore stomachs,he then went on strattera but didnt notice any difference at all.now the phychiatrist wants 2 put him on dexamphetamine,have been reading up on it seems 2 have a lot of side effects,was wondering if anyone else has been prescribed it & if it has been ok for them.
