D%&*$! I’m always losing stuff! | ADHD Information

Yes!  I also can never find my cell phone. My message says if I don't answer my phone I've lost it again! I also have problems with memory I suffer from CRS ( Can't remember S**T)Grocery lists are my worst. Usually I can get them into the store but somewhere between the produce section and the next aisle they completely disappear. Then I end up taking 5 x as long in the store trying to remember what the heck I needed and I come home with extra eggs but forgetting the bread.

I've had to convert to an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper. People look at me funny for carrying such a giant list around, but I dont tend to lose it like I did the post it notes.

It is nice to hear that I am not the only one using a ful size sheet of paper as a grocery list.

The thing I lose most often is my phone, both my cordless and cell phone.  I was staying in a hotel and could not find my phone when the maid came in to clean.  She laughed at me when I picked up the phone to "page" my cell.

I have a problem keeping on to my mobile phone..... I usually lose it
somewhere at least every other week. I simple lose myself every day
doing some crap.

Your not alone, I don't even have ADHD or at least not that I know of but even my mother used to tell me that I would loose my head if it wasn't attached, I thought it was just a me thing, maybe my kids and the school were driving me nuts.  i loose keys, papers, purse, money MIND!!!!  well at least I haven't lost the LOLBig smileTongueSmile              KIDS!!!!

                                          have a great day!!!!

lol I'm surprised I haven't lost myself......I lose virtually everything--no matter how big it is or how many times I tell myself not to forget, etc. I'm ALWAYS losing stuff! It's so frustrating! I realized today that I lost my paycheck. This is the fourth check I've lost this month. I also lost a refund check, a rebate check, and a check my mother wrote me. I lost two of the checks in the same day. Do you guys have this problem too? Sorry for being annoying. I just had to vent.

a couple days ago I left 2 of my rings in the bathroom at school. My mother's ring and my class ring and I didn't even remember that I had them with me. Luckily, my class ring had my name in it, so they called me to pick it up. :|   That was kinda scary...its been a while since I lost jewelry, though. I don't wear earrings anymore because I can't keep track of them. I lose everything and then find it when I'm cleaning out my room. It's frustrating. I could be holding something right now and then lose it and find it next week.

I loose my keys everyday, I loose my cell phone everyday.  When I was very pregnant, I even lost my kid, I was yelling dramatically Brianna! Brianna,  and the lady behind me said, she is just beneath your belly! Now it is a daily project for my children to find mommy's lost things.

So, going along the lines of most mothers of ADDers,  I would loose my head, If it wasnt connected to my neck.

Have a great day finding things!

well, all I have to say is if you are always loosing stuff you are in the right place..THat's nto to say you are going to stop loosing stuff  but hey, at least we all understand. I think  I  don't pay any ateention where I put things far more often than I loose them...lalalala... put the postage stamps in  the drawer  with the baggies not the bills lalalala...on about my day  till I need the stampsI lose my cell phone, keys, and lists.  I have lost an occasional check as well, my wallet, and my purse.  I often leave the laptop power adapter in whatever room I was working in and spend an hour hunting for it.  The cell phone is the worst though, I either don't have it with me, I have lost it again, or I have forgotten to charge it up and the batteries are dead

My adhd husband:

he is the last one to leave the house going in to work; I get off of work before he does and am the first one to get home, and the first thing I always wanna do is turn on the tv....you guys will not believe some of the darndest places I have found the remote control!!!!

He has left it in the bathroom, in the kitchen (it's useless in there!) in the other tv-less living room, in the laundry baskets. I have had to go digging through the dirty clothes hamper looking in his pants pockets for it.  one day he took it with him to work. He has left it upstairs in the computer room, under the bed (also upstairs) in his brief case, in the bookcase, and all sorts of other place.  right now i am dreading going home, because I know the first thing I will have to do before relaxing is go on a remote control search!!

Oh, and he does the same thing with the cordless phones in the house.  as of right now, we still have a cordless phone missing and we can't find it cuz the battery is dead on it cuz it has been off the receiver for so long.

what gives??????

(oh, i have add too, so i'm probably not much better....)

My People! I just got an official diagnosis today. I lose everything! I have had to order about 4 new ATM cards in the past year. My husband gave me a diamond necklace for Christmas....I didn't know where it was come New Years! I have clips on my keys and literally clip them to myself when at work. When I get home, I always leave them in the ignition so I know where they are. Every time return to a parking lot, I've lost my car! I've gone on 4 cruises, and each time have to rush order a Birth Certificate. I couldn't find my insurance card at the doctor's today! He prescribed Ritalin. Will that help me keep up with stuff? Grin. Will someone please invent something for people like us...it seams to me if we can build satlelites and cell phones that take pics..someone can come up with a handheld device...that sends somekind of a sonar tone or  whatever...to a small sticker that can be placed on itmes like...phones, remotes, keys, palm pilots, sunglasses...oh yeah and maybe kids...(knock on wood..I havent lost one of those yet)

got another idea...

why don't they put something on the remote so that if you clap your hands, the thing will beep so you can find it??

(I hope that was understandable guys, i seem to be having one of my "days"....)

I know exactly what you mean...If my cable company can invent tevo..they can come up with a clapper remote! We should start a business!!MegMarie....I agree, great idea! Wished for something like that many times myself...something for EVERYTHING.

Sony...I have a suggestion for you...If possible, buy yourself another remote control (universal one, I guess) and keep it in your purse. Then let HIM search for the remote he misplaced when he gets home.

About the only thing I wont loose are my electronics.  I used to have a paper calendar, but I kept loosing them.  Them I got a Palm Pilot and I have not lost it in 4 years.  (But it has a holster so it's always on my side.)  If I owned it I probably lost it at least once.  I once lost the garage door opener in the yard....

I went through sunglasses quite regularly until I bought a neck strap.  if I can put it down and walk away... it's life span in my possession is very limited.

EXCELLENT IDEA!

i think i might have to try that one.....
I once lost the garage door opener in the yard....
that reminds me of the time my husband/I (we are still debating and blaming this on each other cuz neither one of us remembers doing it...) left a cell phone outside in the yard, in tall grass....you see we were working on the the lawn mower, and we had the phone outside in case it rang....

anyway, the cordless phone got left in the tall grass, and then we forgot about it, and i ran over it with the riding lawn mower...................shredded it to bits.

you know, we been through a whole lot of cell phones and remotes....
