Stimulants are the only things that have worked for me. I'm on Adderall XR, which is better than street meth, thanks. I was on Straterra for awhile, but it never worked... I felt like crap. I just don't think stimulants are all that bad.
Stimulants are a narcotic. Non stimulants are non narcotic. all these meds should be monitired. Liver check 1 time a year as our DR. said.kjvb and rshn
actually they aren't a narcotic what they are is a class 2 drug which is what narcotics are as well. That designation refers to the level of control not the type of drug. Stimulants are stimulants and Amphetimines are a stronger type of stimulant and yes antideprressant/anti convulsives require liver function.[QUOTE=dmary]IM TOTALLY AGAINST ANY TYPE OF DRUG GIVEN TO A CHILD...PERIOD.LET THE TEACHERS DO THEIR JOB.

I didn't want my child on "drugs" either, but it wasn't the teacher that made the decision, i did. after going through kinder, 2 times and loosing several jobs, not to mention watching my child struggle, i decided to give it a chance couldn't let him suffer any longer. Something had to work. Besides letting the teachers do their job at the expense of my child hardly seems worth it. when he's older we'll taper off medicine to see if he has the coping skills, but for know he's got enough going against him, the meds help him focus, and concentrate. i wouldn't want to feel like a speedboat stuck in a wading pool, would you?
