My son is 20 years old and in college he is taking adderall and doing fine with it -
my 14 year old however is on adderall in the morning and straterra at night and the straterra makes him sleepy but helps with the depression he has - the adderall helps for concentration - just a suggestion try another doctor and one that is really knowlegeable in meds for adhd or add.
my husband is 45 and on adderall - it took a while to get the dose right for him - but his life is much better with the meds especially now that the dose is right.

Well, here goes another try to see if this med will work on me. I am going to try Strattera and see if that will work or not..
This will be my 5th med so lets just hope for the best but right now I just am not sure.
I have tried concerta, addreal xr, foclain, dextrose spanules, and now it will be strattera will run into town in morning and pickup prescription as she called it in for me.
My doc was saying that there is 1 out of 15% of people that the stimulants dont work on and so far Im beginning to think that Im that 1 out there for now..
I am 44, just went thru the testing as I am in college and just cant focus, concentrate, comprehend what I have read and my attention span is not there.... so really fusterating and it takes me a month to study for a test and then I still dont do good on it .. UGHH
Any advice for stratter would be great.. To be honest I dont think any are good but if I can find something to help me with my collge work to get me thru this is only what I need it for she was saying..
Some say it takes 4-6 weeks to get into system then I hear and read that some notice it within a few days or weeks.... she told me Im to take it at night with supper and a meal so I dont get sick either....

Our son is using with depakote working good. Non stimulant. Difference is not a narcotic which stimulants are.
