Therapy for ADD | ADHD Information

I have been reading stuff online about ADD.  I keep reading about people going to therapy for problems with ADD, other than just  getting medication.  Do most people go to therapy sessions with the problems? I have problems with school, some relationship problems (mainly my family because of anger, bad moods), and maybe eating disorder (some of you said is related).  I am not really big on the idea of doing any therapy, but just wanted to know if this is something most doctors have suggested for you guys.  Also I have an appointment with a psychiatrist in a little over a week but i am also going to talk to some people at my college first just to see what they say.

In order to receive medication I was required to see a Psychiatrist regularly. The powerful medication can only be prescribed by a psychiatrist and most will not prescribe it without two or four one hour sessions per month. But if you are not on medication there is no need for the supervision of a psychiatrist.

But any type of therapy is good for us with ADD regardless of the educational training level of the licensed professional!

Emily omg I read your post about eating disorders and I just wanted to say hi to you because I have an ED too. After reading that article that was posted under your post really helped explain some things about ADD and ED's. I haven't gone in for ADD diagnosis yet but I am in 2 weeks. I have been diagnosed as a bulimic with anorexic tendencies. I thought maybe we could talk sometime. My AIM SN is  if you feel like talking sometime. surfgirlie538468.5850810185
