At the most theraputic dose, the medication does not make you smarter. It ulocks your abilities so you can reach your full potential. Its the person that deserves the credit, not the medication.

I understand what u are saying,   but what I am trying to say is that I am not expecting to be this super intelligant person,  but want to experience the effects that so many people state as in "it truely changed my life"  or I am a new person"

I have spent most of my llife being treated for depression and now found it is the ADD that has caused my symptons,  I am in my late 40's and now just want to try and live a "normal or close to it life"   and feel so jelous that people on medication notice such an amazing change.

Allot of times, the "huge changes" are in students, as it does make a huge impact in academic performance (personaly). Have you noticed other changes? Less forgetfull (besides the phone numbers?) cleaner, watch what you say a little more closely? Bottom line, is the medication just lets you focus as a normal person would, its still up to you to start making the changes in your life for the better, the medication wont do that.

Well I need some feed back!

I have notice on these forums that many of u have stated amazing results right away when taking medications.  I.E.  "it was amazing"  "I noticed immediatly the difference"   "I have my life back"  etc......

My doctor told me if Dexedrine didnt work that he wud try me on Ritalin,   I have gone from 10,20 now 30mg,   and all I found was, 1. felt calmer   2. slight loss of appetite   3.  could remember phn #'s    the last one was big for me as i cannot remember #'s and tend to switch them around. But nothing else that I have noticed.

But none of them gave me the results that some of you state like "amazing difference"

Am I expecting an explosion and to be this super intelligant person???? I dont know but I deffinatly dont expericene what most of u do when on correct medication.

Any feed back would be great!

All people are different.  Some meds work great for one person, while other meds for other people.  Then there is also a group of people that none of the meds work.  I think it 15% or 20%.

The only way you can to find out what will work for you is to try them as your doctor see fit.

I'm on Ritalin now 30mg 3x a day and I didn't feel any great differance, but the small changes have made my life easier.

Remember that they don't make a pill for making people enjoy doing boring and unfun tasks, no matter what meds your on it still going to be boring.

By the way if anyone finds a pill like that let me know ASAP
