Look into it.Herd really works. www. biof.com/ neurofeedbackI looked into it once. A Dr. in my area runs a clinic for it but he wanted a frelling fortune. When my wife and I told his staff we could not possabily afford it we were taken into a private room and offered an discount of several hundred dollars. When we were offered the discount we immediatly began to doubt what the true effectivness of his program would be.

I'm not saying it would not work for me or others, but the two different MD's who have supervised my medications have told me there is not enough clinical evidence that it is worth the cost.

I figure I'll buy my own Bio-feedback machine or computer add-ons and try it that way.
Being too poor to get an actual diagnosis (much less meds), I've toyed with the idea of using biofeedback too.

The human mind is a powerful thing, that I feel shouldn't be underrated. And to the contrary, I believe there may in fact be a decent amount of clinical evidence to support its effectiveness. I guess it just depends on the person and their mindset, more than anything... also their willingness to mentally work hard and persevereto get success - because it won't happen overnight.

There is a program called brainwave generator that you can google and download a trial version, that seems to be well suited for this type of thing. If you can acquire the registered version, the company operates a website where users post different presets they've customized and people try them and comment on their experience. From when I last checked, there appear to be a LOT of users and even some ADD stuff.

That program essentially entrains your brainwave frequencies (what they measure with an EEG) to certain levels, that are conducive to certain ways of thinking... but if you're considering biofeedback, you probably already know that.

I haven't tried it yet, but I would assume that if you could entrain to a frequency that is conducive to attention and focus (will have to look it up), while doing something (like homework in my case), it may help.

I think the real trick... they way to really make it like real, actual "biofeedback" is to mentally be aware of what's going on with your thoughts and sub-systems. Many people believe in a concious mind and a sub-concious one. My research with hypnosis has shown me that the brain is instead made up of different sub-systems that control different things (thought, movement, coordination, hearing, etc.). And the whole trick (I believe) is to associate, or create neural pathways, between certain centers.... this is basically a drawn-out way of describing the process we call "learning!"

Actual biofeedback, to my knowledge, helps you create new neural pathways. I think you can do this at home on your own though, if you put enough effort and time into it.
