To anyone interested, I suggest picking up the book "Delivered from Distraction". I wasn't thrilled about it at first. I thought great, another snoozer from a psychiatrist who purports to have all the answers. I was dead wrong.

This book is written for Adders. If you hate long chapters, medical terms no one can understand and boring, disconnected examples you won't find that here.

I'm moving up my own post (sorry) because I just posted it today and it's about to go off the screen already.I'v been reading the first book "Driven to Distraction"  have to say its the best ADHD  book I have found so far!!!  LOL - I was hooked after Jim's story too. It was so me! I was reminded of my college days and trying, trying, trying to write a paper for one of my courses, and ending up staying up all night the day before it was due because I just could NOT focus on starting the damn thing.

I was pretty gung ho with it at the beginning, but now I am sort of stuck in the middle of the book. Story of my life - can't finish a damn thing.

I read it too, the first story of the guy Jim trying to get that work presentation written was just like me! I look at things on my to do list and think 'yes, I should do that' but deep down I know I'll probably never get around to it. Anything that will take the slightest bit of effort I can't do.

There is another great description of a woman who finds an old cough drop in her car and thinks she should throw it out. A week later, it's still there. Why are the most simple tasks so hard to complete? And when it comes to more complex ones, well I can't even think about them without hyperventilating.

Been on meds almost a week. Hopefully I'll start feeling like doing some of those minor tasks soon!

Everyone should read Driven To Distraction, it's a great book and really easy to read.
