i am sorry, but i don't even understand what you are saying, vikki....
are you saying that supposedly kids actually DO outgrow ad/hd (to a certain extent), and that the "medicine guys" (for lack of a better word, or the people who create ritalin, strattera and other ad/hd medications) are just saying that it DOES persist into adulthood just in order to get more buyers for their product?
because I was just saying how oldfashioned some of these govt' owned mental health clinics are around where I live are....Over 2 years ago, it was common knowledge that AD/HD does persist into adulthood, and these old fashioned folks around here with their OLD ways and their OLD books are sitting up there and trying to convince us otherwise when we had just recently had a doctor's diagnosis...That was all I was saying.....
But can you restate your point please vikki?
sonya_h38421.4386111111 [QUOTE=vikki619]<>Wow, Sonya are you in CA? If so, the terminator has terminated the o2 to the govt. workers, well not ALL of them.
Here is where I get tomatoes and stoned...heehaw bring it!
Well there are instances where child can grow out of adhd..at-ta-ta-ta-ta taaa!
Due to the change in chemical balance or imbalance (in?) flxuations similar to that of puberty. Please don’t ask me where I read that. Don’t you trust me?
Also, the statement I see the pharm co's sticking by is "we assumed kids grew out of adhd, because we incorrectly focused on the hyper-ness of the adhd" oops! As adults many adhd children have learned to pretend to be attentive and are not. And so like since the hyper is not there the adhd is in fact-intact!
All the events leading up to the “oh my goodness, I got something that will make viagra look like a softy. A way to keep kids medicated as adults, lets say the hyper is gone and OOPS, we did it again, like Brittney getting married. We were incorrect disclaimer, we got FDA's payroll they got our bush/back. Think of the stock prices.
Hence the flip-flop of adhd/add/ adhd w/out h. Kind of makes you wonder l
Like the prequel to the star wars trilogy did dearth Vader have the bowel hair cut too, how long what the bowl hair cut in fashion for??
My main fus, today this post is the advertising stating 'the cure/antidote"
For all your tid-bitters out there. Papa john's pizza slogan, "better ingredients better pizza" yea well that was not the original. It was something like "delivering the best pizza" Some one sued saying you can’t say it is the best, because your best is not the best to me.. something like that, don’t sweat the details,, haven’t you benefited form your adhd, oops I mean please stop spinning on this part of my point.
I feel that the cos are misrepresenting their product by saying it is the cure. Also misrepresenting ADHD-ites or was I not pay attention When the memo stating were are all part of a collective. We are all one. One problem. One solution. Ya know what I mean, vern.

I think your post speaks volumes about why Canada's healthcare system or France's or GBs for that matter kills Americas. We pay more than twice as much for health care per capita than the next western nation yet have the 27th hihest life expectancy rater and arent even in the top ten lowest in infant mortality.... because if you dont have insurance healthcare in this country SUCKS
Hey, did I tell you guys about the time that my husband and I (both adhd) were not on health insurance, and he felt he needed to refill his medication because we were going through some rough times...so we went to this OLD FASHIONED mental health place owned by the state, that goes off of your income, just to get a refill on one of his prescriptions...(my husband was between jobs, and he had already got an ADHD diagnosis from his former psychiatrist and had been on medication before)....
This "proffessional" sat up there and tried to convince us that there was no way my hubby could POSSIBLY have ADD, cause children just "outgrow that"!!! She said "add children usually grow up to be 'manics'"!!!..?
So I was sitting there stewing, while she was all digging through her ANCIENT mental books or whatever trying to figure out what type of "manic" my husband had grown up to be.....and then we kept insisting that he has ADHD, and she got exhasperated and was like.."well how old was he when he was diagnosed??" And we were both like.."21 YEARS OLD!!"....and she sat there looking all confused... That was 2 years ago....
I wonder how cheap she feels when she is watching tv and sees all those commercials for strattera for "ADULT ADHD" I know she MUST have seen those commercials at some point and rememberd us!!
