Can't afford it. Our Ins. works like this. 1,000. in network  2,000. out network and then only half payed. We have to pay other half. MHMR before we will help need full psychological testing needed. Jamie, I'm very happy for you that you are seeing a therapist in conjunction with or w/o meds (you didn't say if you were on ADHD meds ??). I spent two years seeing a counselor/therapist for BPD, borderline personality disorder, before I was diagnosed at age 54 for ADHD, which I've had since childhood. Although there are similar symptoms for both, I feel I wasted two years that I COULD have been coached for ADHD with my therapist and which I feel would have been more beneficial to me.

It my opinion that it's always good to have some sort of therapy when on meds such as for ADHD. Even people taking antidepressants. Too many doctors hand out antidepressants, but don't include any therapy or follow ups.

I'm glad you're going to get to work on areas in which you need "coaching" and that you look forward to it. May next week go as well!

Welcome to the board! It's also therapy in a sense. Great people to relate to. GypsyWomyn38420.5291898148

Do any of you see a therapist ? I was told that it comes with seeing the phycchiatrist i was wondering if that was normal? I went to see my new therapist for the first time and he went over my intake and the doctors notes and he made me feel better about myself also told me areas we need to work on and things i needed to do to help my add inattentive type . I found myself looking forward to seeing him again next week just wondering if anyone else felt this way and have or are seeing a therapist.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day !!!!!!

If it helps or makes you feel better keep at it.  My son and I did counseling for his ADHD.
