help need input | ADHD Information

 Has anyone tried an herbal supplement called FOCUS, we are into alternative after trying all the drugs, and are currently on a ADHD suggested supplement diet, and have tried BeCalmed, and now want to try fOCUS but aren 't sure if it would would work

I have not tried medication yet and we are still looking for a natural alternative. We have tried homeopathy but it had to many restrictions and our son would eat things that would antidote the remedies so I was never sure of it's effectiveness.  That's why we have been considering med's but want to try one more thing before we go that route.  I heard about something called ATTEND which really sounds wonderful they consider it food for the ADHD brain and that really appeals to me rather than drugs for the brain.  So we are waiting for it to arrive and hope it can help our son  and us to lead more normal lives with less daily stress.

Has anyone else tried Attend. I know supplements take a while to work but we are really hesitant about powerful medications.

 

a friend of mine was taking ritalin and switched to FOCUS.  besides it being more expensive, she has positive affects and has continued using it.

my son is eight and has been diagnosed with adhd and depression.  he takes prozac , adderall and trazodone ( to help sleep at night).   This is the third combination of drugs we have beeen through.  The prblem has been that initially after changing the adhd drug we seem to make progress.  After a moth or too side effects appear, ie shakiness, dialated pupils and hyper episodes.  We are afraid to continue adhd medication because of potential toxicity but are getting very little guidance from current physicians.

any input would be much appreciated

Hi mandy I also have an 8 year old son with A.D.H.D.  also depression and oppositional defiance disorder,we have been on so many meds i couldnt count and like you said they all have some side effects.Every time we start a new one i am scared for days not knowing how he will respond to it. My son has never went toxic, do you see a child psychiatrist? When you have to do drug combos they seem to know the most about them.Also whenever my son gets put on a new drug i get on the internet and look it up, it gives me piece of mind to know what other people think of it and what other reactions have been to it.Stick with it I am sure you will find the right combination i know it is hard but we have to be strong for our babies, god bless and good luck
