Need more help

Pray !!!!!! Only GOD can show this mom that her child should come first. No matter what you say she's gonna do what she wants but she is not stronger than GOD's influence. I prayed that someone would have a dream and GOD would show them the right thing to do and after a while they did and I never mentioned it but I knew what worked. Good Luck!

I am the step-mom to a beautiful, intelligent, and artistic six year-old girl, who was recently diagnosed with ADHD. My problem is getting the whole family on the same page. My husband and I are pretty much inagreement that medication should not be the only form of treatment she receives. However, her mother will not seek behavioral therapy to go along with the now 10mg of Aderall she is taking. She claims that with her job and wedding plans she can not pay nor tolerate further treatment. We can not force her to seek help, nor can we afford to pay for uninsured treatment. Her mother holds the strings and is assured that medication will work. It hasn't yet. My step-daughter trouble at school, she is losing friends. She asks us why she had to start school in the first place.I have seen her go from a self-assured two year-old to a dissapointed six year-old,and I feel helpless to change this. Please if anyone has any suggestions on how o unite this family, it would be gretly appreciated.

The mom sounds selfish to me the poor kid. At least she has you. I know our finances are tight but for my kids therapy I sqeeze out the money. I can go without some things my child cannot. She is not on any medications at this time only therapy.

Wow, that really shows how far we have come over this year. Thankfully, we are in a much better place with my SD, but her mother still isn't any better--even after the wedding.
