I'm currently taking 20mg of Adderall and 300mg Wellbutrin time release. I have never felt better mentally but I've been constipated since the recent addition of Wellbutrin. I have been taking adderall for several months but just started wellbutrin a month ago. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, what do you recommend?
Thanks in advance,
elduque
I haven't experienced your situation, but try increasing your water and fiber intake. If this doesn't work, consult your physician.yes, I would say get some sort of gentle fiber that you can take every day, like metamucil capsules, and make sure the directions say that it is a ok for "daily" gentle fiber therapy...this may help... and make sure that if you take your medicine in the morning, take the fiber in the evening, or vice versa....don't take it right with the medication....(make sure you follow the directions in taking with a large glass of water..)
I had that same thing with strattera...OH GOD, IT WAS THE WORSE!! I came off of strattera cause I was so miserable...Someone also suggested to me, "stool softener" which is different than a "laxative"...she said that her son used it when he was having problems with strattera and it worked....I will find her post and post it here so you can see it..
Here it is!! I found it!

My son got bad constipation from ritalin adderal and strettera. Being he was only 5 when he started I thought the brown streaks was from him being to lazy to wipe or playing to hard to go use the bathroom. Come to find out it was just that he was so constipated he couldnt go or was to painful so he tryed to hold it all the time. We started giving him colace which is an over the counter stool softener. The dosage that works is different for every person so the best way is to start with 1 pill a day and see if it helps. If it doesnt either up to 2 pills a day or down to 1 pill every other day. I have noticed also that less constipation makes a happier child as you said you were to constipated to notice anything other than the stomach aches, I think that was very true for him also and he couldnt express that to me since he was to young to understand. A stool softener is different than a laxative. It doesnt make you go it helps to keep your stool soft enough to pass easier. and is cheap I get 100 pills for under .

I'm currently taking adderall and wellbutrin with great results after just a few months. My doctor advised me to be sure that I drink lots of water. I do and have never had that problem.
The only (and I mean only) downside is having to go to the bathroom alot. You'll notice that you feel better, never get headaches, skin looks better, etc. Gets rid of the "dry mouth" side effect of adderall too. Works for me.
