dosage amount | ADHD Information

I'm very new to this whole ADHD thing and to this message board.  We started our son on Concerta 18 mg in Feb and returned to the dr early March.  We increased the dosage to 36 mg and I am wondering if he would be better on the 27 mg dose.  How do you know when you have the right dose?  He seems to be ok - but seems to have more stomach aches and no appetite.  He also sometimes seems sleepier than normal.  I've been extremely hesitant to start him on the medications and am obviously worried that we are giving him too much!  Does it ever get easier???!!!

WOW!!! I am very amazed to hear someone say that their child is sleepy on concerta,i had to take my little girl off of concerta cause it was keeping her up for days(im very serious),she had 7 hours sleep in 5 days at one point.The appetiete is very common for concerta,my little girl was very poor about eating while on concerta.she was on concerta for 2 years and gained 4 pounds and 1 inch.Good luck with all of this and hope to hear that you get relief from this.

Thanks!  I was also worried about the growth thing.  Why did you take your daughter off the Concerta?  Because of the same concerns?
