Hi everyone,
i was just wanting to know has anyone had any good outcomes from using Ritalin? because i have a friend who seemed to be a lot worse on the medication.
Also, has anyone tried any other forms of treatment besides taking tablets and medication?
I've been taking Ritalin for a total of 10 years. I started on the Ritalin every 4 hours 3 times a day. I never had problems with it, It improved my life greatly! about 6 months ago the doctor wanted me to try Ritalin LA I am so glad I did I don't have to carry pills around with me and I think it works just as well Tamaraw196938430.5213657407I am being told that my ten year old son needs to try medication, namely Ritalin but, have read some bad things about it , I am so scared of letting him have it and have also been told that he may become very aggressive without medication as time goes on, at this present moment he is a very loving sensitive young boy who is a delight to be around exept for the noises and his fidgiting, he is an angel, I don't want him to be someone who he is not, if you know what I mean, I really need some help, I feel so alone here, I am a single mum in late forties living in a place where I am an outsider, trying to cope with a part time job, a son with ADHD and a son with ODD. I also have two grown up kids who have babies of their own and my grandchildren, they are not much help at this time as they are always going on at him for being the way he is, they also think he is spoilt and I suppose the both of them are as I am on my own with these two and was not with the older two. If anyone has any advice I would be so gratefulThis little boy is very sad, he is treated lke a freak
He is ridiculed by peers and mates every single week
He goes to school and tries to cope with ticks and movements there
They laugh at him and tease him so, they really do not care
Look at this boy see who he is, just look at what he can do
Be glad that you can sit still, not make a noise, be glad that it's not you
He tries to please his teacher, he tries to please him mum
He does the exersices he's given even though they make him glum
I don't want him on medication, I don't want him to change ever
I just want him to be all he can be and maybe one day to get better
I adore my son and want only what is best for him, my darling Charlie xxx
I started on Ritalin about 2 months ago, switched to Concerta and have since gone back to Ritalin. It works very well for me and I am able to control the dosage better than with Concerta which you can't really control at all. My schedule is one that does not always require a long acting med.
