So far I can definitely tell I took something. It basically feels like someone is pumping a steady low level of coffee in to my blood stream. It's not particularly pleasant, but it's not overly uncomfortable either. No loss of appetite and we'll see how sleep goes.
How have others experiences been at this level of dosage? How long did it take for you to notice somethign other than the feeling of being on a stimulant? Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks! [/QUOTE]
Hi Sausage, and Welcome to the Board! I started on 18mg (age 55) my first month, am now on 36mg. I have never felt I was on a stimulant, but have felt a bit more focused.
Joy, why didn't you try a higher dosage of Concerta? From what I've read, many adults will go to 54mg. At 36mg I still don't feel that motivated. Concerta is a milder stimulant than Ritilan and Adderall.
My concern is those people who feel stimulated (especially ADHHHD). If I were to feel stimulated, like too much coffee (which I used to self medicated -- to slow myself down - for years), I would have second thoughts about having AD(H)D. Does this make sense? When i started with 18 mgs, i definitely felt that it was the right amount, but soon realized that it didn't do the job of getting me more motivated so i switched to adderall. Stick it out though, ritalin (i think) is still the most-prescribed ADD/ADHD medication. GOOD LUCK! & nbsp; -joy
Hi All
I started taking Concerta today, my doctor has me on 18mg to start. I'm a healthy 32 y/o guy who has never been on meds like this before. I finally grew sick of making stupid errors at work and not being able to concentrate, if a pill will help me out then I am all for it.
