I'm new to this board, having just found out that I have ADD... Most of my life has been spent trying to connect to people (my peers) who in all fairness would never be able to understand the "Gift/Curse" that I've been living with. I Have this strong desire to converse some people around my age (18/m) who can relate. Is there anyone out there?

Well, It's nice to find like minded people... That's the real reason why I joined this board, I always wondered why my mind seemed to be moving at a different pace than my "friends". It truly is a dual edged sword though. On one hand you're able to process multiple things at a time very quickly, but on the other hand we have problem with the "follow through". I can always solve the problem, I just have a issue with finding the right words for an answer.

Howdy. I am also new to this. I find this board is a good place to learn about yourself and others, as fas as what is AD/HD, how it affects yourself vs others, and how different people cope.

I am 20, female, I live in Canada, and this has been an eye-opener. I have found that there are tons and tons of children suffering immensely because our society doesn't know how to "deal" with us. As well, many adults are still suffering because of late diagnosis, inaccessibility to treatment and the ignorance of those around them.

People like yourself and I should be grateful that we can be aware and figure out early in life how to benefit from the gift and overcome the curse so that we can use our cleverly wired brains to the best of our abilities.

Find me if you have msn.... believe it or not I do like to talk about things other than AD/HD, but it is helpful to have friends to talk about it with sometimes.
