My son is 7 years old. He has been on Strattera for the past year. During his second trimester in first grade, his grades have gone way down. The teacher attributes this to him not being able to process the information given to him during class. Besides ADHD he has been diagnosed with Sensory Integration Dysfunction. Has anyone heard of ADHD causing processing problems with school work? Im trying to pin down the cause of the lack of processing ability. ADHD vs SID.
There is a website that may help...Search under the "Amen Clinic"...His name is daniel g. Amen and he wrote a book as well, Healing Add.....and identifying the 6 different types of ADD there is...It's a really informative book and i know it's at books a million or can be ordered through them...probably on line on his website even...But I think it will help you to find out what your looking for as well as why it happens, and what to do to help your child...It opened my eyes to alot I never knew and to understand why my son wasn't getting it in some things...Hope it helps, my best for you and yours...
