folks, i could really use some info from ADDers.

i'm f, 52 and only diagnosed and medicated fo 3 years.

Is insomnia one of the symptoms of ADD? In my case this would not be due to meds as I've had this prob most of my life. I'm not a shrink case; I see one every 3 mo for my meds though. I a type a/b personality though as I'm told many ADDers are. Anyone out there with feedback?

Info please

I have had insomnia most of my life as well.  I take a medication called "Trazedone" before bed.  Great stuff!  It's non addictive, and many people I know have it for sleep problems also.  Maybe you can ask about that.

I was diagnosed with ADD nearly 2 weeks ago.  Since I've been on the Adderall(generic) I've been having trouble, even with my Trazedone.  I think it's a matter of getting it adjusted.  I wouldn't rule out your medication as a reason, even though you've been an insomniac most of your life.  I am sure now that all the years I suffered was due to my ADD, now it's due to the stimulant in my meds.

Me too.  Damned brain just won't shut up.

I've always had insomnia. In fact, I can only remember sleeping through the night twice. I'm 33 years old.
I tend to wake up every 2 to 3 hours, and sometimes I'll remain awake for a couple of hours, unable to go back to sleep. My mom said I was a rotten sleeper, even as an infant.
