Anyone into Court TV? | ADHD Information

Is anyone else into watching court tv?  I love watching all of the investigating and detective shows.  Forensic science is so interresting to me, but sometimes I cain't watch it at night.  (cain't go to sleep because my mind goes crazy) I like to figure out who did it and how it was done.

I also like to watch the court proceedings.  That school teacher who hacked up her husband is wacked!

You, caylx2, are a "kindred spirit"!!!

Oh, how I LOVE watching forensic files, and trace evidence, and the investigators, etc...

Alas, however, I don't watch them nearly as much as I would like to...  If I did, I would never sleep again!!  I would never stay at home again, unless my husband was with me, OR unless he bought me a very large doberman/rotweiller/pitbull, to keep me company while he was gone!!!

Is it not amazing how they can find a dead body, take ONE FIBER, or  ONE PEICE OF LINT that may have been on it...and then use that ONE FIBER STRING, to figure out WHO DID IT, WHY THEY DID IT, HOW THEY DID IT, WHERE THEY DID IT, AND WHEN THEY DID IT, AND WHAT WEAPON THEY USED??  AND ALL FROM THAT ONE FIBER STRING THAT JUST HAPPENED TO HAVE BEEN LAYING ON THE BODY....

Sonya,

I am so glad I am not the only one.  My husband thinks I watch too much!!  I would love to be a detective and blow the whistle on someone who thinks they got away with it!  I watch an episode where a lady killed her husband so she could get the money and open up a fish store.   What a wacko!!

haha!  My boyfriend and my neighbor watch it like crazy.  As well as Nancy Grace (YYYUCK!), Greta van Sustern, etc.  They're so cute!  (I say this because it's the only time my bf is ever remotely giggly or excited.)  They get very into it.  By proxy, I know every fact, non-fact, conspiracy theory, whatever about the Peterson case.  (OK, I got kinda into it too, hehe.)

I like forensics, too, but I really go in for Neuroscience.  In fact, I was going to ask if anyone else here is into brain stuff.

I love those shows too.  Years ago, before court TV, I'd read those cheesey "Top Detective" magazines.  I can't remember the titles of them all, but I could actually read and absorb them!  They were based on true stories, and it was always fascinating how they linked criminals to the crimes.

I was a HUGE OJ trial addict!  I am so thankful they didn't have the Scott Peterson trial televised, or I'd have a whole 'nother year of doing absolutely nothing else!

Mary,

Yes I am into neuroscience as well.  I think the body is a very interresting and always challenging vessel.  When I was a child, I was so interrested in medical books  that showed all the internal organs and the brain.  I remember disecting the frog brain in science, and my partner, who was a boy getting sick.

Try www.brainplace.com it has all kind of brain info in it.

I remember dissecting a pig fetus in high school, and I was the only girl in my group of 4. The boys had no problem with the body, but once it was time to get to the head, they all got queasy. They watched in horror as I grabbed the scalpel and got right in there!

I'm all about Court TV.... Forensic Files is a personal favorite.  Jillette (my wife) keeps asking me if I'm watching it so I'll know how to kill her. I tell her "No I'm learning which ways NOT to kill you" . After all they're the ones who got caught right?

My favorite is the episode where the guy kills his wife and then puts her frozen chainsawed corpse through a wood chipper. I realize it's sick and actually quite tragic, but I seem to have this sick sense of humor which rears its head especially for something like this!

But seriously I've always loved these shows. It all began with Quincy M.E. in the 70's and I ran with it from there......

I also enjoy the food network.... Jillette calls it an obsession, but it will hold my interest.

I think, for me, it's not so much that I am interested in how they kill somebody, but I am more interested in how to AVOID being a victim...

For most of these situations, the solution is obvious....like, domestic violence..some people stay in a situation in which some one is habitually abusive, and instead of leaving they tried to stick around and ended up getting killed and a domestic violent rage...

Or either, some one was prostituting, (which involves going to private places with complete strangers) and their "customer" ended up being a serial murderer...

but the ones that seem to pick their victim totally at random are the ones that FREAK ME OUT, because that victim could have very easily been me!!  I wanna know how to avoid it...

MAYBE ITS THE AD/HD PARANOIA IN ME COMING OUT A LITTLE BIT?

I also am totally intrigued by the forensic files, where they can literally pick, like, ONE FIBER off of a dead person, and use that ONE FIBER to figure out who did it....

AND THE PROFILERS AMAZE ME!!

On this one episode, they were profiling this serial killer based on the conditions in which they found the body...describing what this killers personality would have been like....and so forth...THEY HAD EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS KILLER FIGURED OUT DOWN TO THE FACT THAT HE HAD A LISP!!!!
