Attend - has anyone tried it?? | ADHD Information

Natural  is a tricky  description. It  has associatations with  healthy. Ma Huang was natural  and  in many natural weight loss and add   supplements for  years...till it was banned  becausae it was killing folks and causing strokes.  Many, many drugs  have  natural sources  and are just synthetic formulas  of what occurs naturally   in a plant  made in a way to control dosage. I wouldn't   assume any natural supplement   is better than  a drug  made with strict controls. Do a google on heavy metal and  herbal remedies. The Supplement lobby in this country is so strong they have been able to avoid  regulations  requiring testing  of their product for impurities and can make claims without actual  double blind studies....If you read Sundays parade magazine I am sure you can find an article telling you garlique will cure damn enar all that ails you. I am not saying   Attend wont work because I don't know that...but  the makers of attend have no real medical studies to support  it does work

That's the manufacturers advice on their product at the bottom of the page in  green text against a green back ground...all the claims are made in  stark black text

Does it really work?

Focus has been very effective with a very high success rate. We get an extremely high reorder rate on the product, indicating that our customers are very satisfied with it. In fact, it has been sold to literally thousands of customers in virtually every country around the world!

So their proof  it works is   they claim it has a high reorder rate...mmm  not much science there

I have read more than once that heavy metals   in the envoroment   might have a connection to adhd  and autism. If you read up  on  herbs imported from china  their heavy been several studies   that found  mercury in a large percentage. i would be real leary about taking  herbs I didnt know the source for of purity of  and  myself, would never give them to a kid. I am pretty strongly opinionated about it though. I am sure  someone else here   feels just as strongly  in the opposite way but, you asked  so, there is some food for thought in what  must already be a tough situation

I have not tried anything natural. But I do want to try to help aleviate your worries about DRUGGING your child. Try to think of it as he is drugged now and in April he wont be.

ADD/ADHD inertwines itself in the development of self.   I believe that your child, unlike the adult diagnosed, will have the opportunity to grow up without ADHD playing a comparativly huge factor in his life. And think of all the unlearning he wont have to do.

Growing up w/o medication does not prohibit one from becoming a happy healthy human being, but I do believe that w/o keeps you from being the best you can be.

NowI am just one ADDer so take my opions as that. But as for myself, I'm excited for him. Best to your family.Hello, my son is 9 years old and has just been newly diagnosed with ADD.  He is to start on Concerta in April in a drug trial program which will be monitered on a weekly basis.  I am hesitant to say the least as I am so worried about potential side effects.  Have been browsing all kinds of sites on this and found some info on a natural product called Attend.  Has anyone here ever tried it and what results have you had?  I find myself so willing to try anything else but do not want to waste time with a product that may not do the job.  I don't mind admitting that putting my son on heavy medications does scare me, but he is really struggling with attentiveness in school and needs the help.  Any feedback will be very much appreciated.  Thanks.
