Ritalin LA does it work?????? | ADHD Information

I haven't had any problems with Ritalin LA, Both my son and I have been on it for about six months or more. My son gets migraines but  they haven't increased with this med. We haven't seen any side effects he actually gained weight within the last few monthsMy son was taking 54mg of concerta and it wasn't helping.  His doctor switched him over to Ritalin LA 30mg.  We started this yesterday - we are having a really bad time with this.  It is as if it isn't working at all, like he's not on anything.  Is is suppose to take a couple of days to work or what?  We are really struggling, I feel like I need to pad the walls of my house and the attitude is out of control. Any advice?Hi the doctor just changed my son from stratera to ritalin LA today anyone with any experience with this med does it work ??Straterra isn't a stimulant, however Ritalin LA is.  I believe you will notice a difference, as stimulants give you a driven feeling. Hi, I was on Focalin 5mg since last month, it worked well, but had a hard time finding pharmacies here in  northern california keep in stock since it is new. Anyway, I was switched on Thursday to Ritalin LA 10mg. I do not like the side effects! I get a terrible headache when the meds first hit, like a bad sinus headache. Then when it kicks in, I feel like I am all wound up, but at the same time, very solemn like I am kind of depressed. I did not experience this with Focalin. I am going to have to switich back and find a pharmacy to special order. Anyway, that is my feedback on Ritalin LA. Anyone else have these types of side effects?

My son was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of seven. We tried almost everything, even Ritalin. When the Ritalin LA came out his doctor tried it again. To my surprise it worked wonders. I had the school faculty and all his teachers asking for the number to his doctor. He went from the worst student to the best student. However, my son suffers from tic disorders and the Ritalin LA onlyy made the matters worst. Uncontrollably bad.
