Do irritating clothes make work difficult | ADHD Information

Oh, how I hate dressing up! Who's the psycho who invented hose and heels??? Unless its a funeral or wedding, forget it!

I used to hate jeans until they invented stretch denim. Now I kinda like them. I'm the queen of tshirts. I have never worked in a field that required dressing up, thank God! Chocoholic - once I discovered stretch denim, I never went back! LOL.

I used to HATE wearing socks--I had to try on like 4 pairs to find a set
that the silly seam at the toe didn't bug the heck outta me! I like being
barefoot except in the house and I CAN'T stand shoes without socks...

Yep--tagless shirts are awesome!!

My problem is I work best in regular jeans and t-shirts. As long as they are well-fitting, not too tight straight leg jeans. I feel a draft in flared leg jeans. I also enjoy athletic shoes. Do those of you who have to 'dress' for work, like in an office, have 'casual Fridays." I was fortunate in my last job that every day was casual, and I could even wear sweats. Ahhhh!

Cotton is my favorite material, too. I remember not too many years ago, it was almost impossible to find anything made with 100% cotton. Glad it's made a come-back!    Rayon is comfortable, too, but usually has to be ironed. Who? Me, iron? Yeah, right. Rayon also usually says dry clean only, but I always either hand wash or even machine wash. No problemo ~ so far.

Flannel sheets...ooooh, yes!
Terry cloth and cotton bra's are the best I found.
Cotton bras unfortunately don't work too well for me, or I'd wear them all the time. My 36D requires much firmer support. At least I didn't inherit my grandmother's double F.
If I am ever offered a job (in the future) where I would be expected to wear heels of any kind, I'd have to decline. Personally, I think high, low, any heels should be outlawed. At one time, men wore them. Ever wonder why they stopped wearing them, yet expected women to continue wearing them?    Sure, they look great, but is it worth the problems with feet, back, etc.???

I don't wear a bra either, haven't for years .... extremely irritating and uncomfortable (even if it fits). Who cares if my boobs eventually end up at my belly button? My cat doesn't mind. Yes, it 's annoying for me too but I think it's also true for the general population. I remember hearing a story in the news about a year long study which found that workers were more productive when they wore jeans to work. I think AD/HD people are more sensitive to irritating clothes but it is something that affects non-ADHD people too, maybe not as much but it still affects them.  I go to work with an annoying tag in my shirt or an itchy pants suit and all day I am about to scream - pulling, scratching and grumbling. Not accomplishing anything at all. People walk by and are like "ehh..what are you doing? You should be working" It's bad enough that even my own pen distracts me, but the dress code was not meant for us. On jean days (if we get any) my work is done much faster.I find that clothes are a biggy for me too. I think I have the world's biggest selection of purely comfortable clothes! There's just something about wearing soft clothing and having soft bedding that makes life mmm, mmm better! I have the clothes issue to.  I hate to dress up.  I am lucky to work in an environment (University) where I can dress casually.  I cut all tags out of my clothes.  If I wear something new and it bugs me it goes right in the St. Vinnie's pile.  I am always throwing out underwear and socks because they bug me.  I even have problems with clothes where they aren't made well (doesn't matter how much they cost) where one leg or one sleeve is longer than the other, the seems aren't straight or if something has stripes they don't go across the garment evenly.  I spend alot of time comparing these things in the stores.  If I forget and buy something that isn't right I bring it back because I know I won't wear it.Count me in.

If I had it my way, I'd be wearing T-shirts and flannel pants to work everyday. The minute I get home, the office clothes come off and my frump clothes come on. I can't even stand to wear socks around the house - I wear slippers. And they have to be hard-soled slippers - there is nothing worse than walking around the kitchen and feeling every crumb under your feet.

I refused to wear jeans before I was 12 years old. I hated the feel of them against my skin. I was the same with my first bra. I'd fold my arms so that my parents wouldn't notice I was leaving the house without it.

I hate dress pants, form fitting shirts, skirts, you name it. I can't wear skirts without hose, because I hate the feel of my thighs touching together. And I hate wearing hose because of the restriction it causes in the midsection.

I like how I look when I dress up, but 5 minutes later I want to take it all off.

Oooh - I just know my boyfriend is going to have a fit with me when we go shopping for our first couch (we just have a futon now). It can't be too mushy, but it can't be too firm. And the arms will have to be positioned just so. The length of the seat will have to be proportioned just so. And of course, the style/colour will have to be something we both like. Yup, it's going to be an adventure.

I am not familiar with that. What is it?

Oooh, Yoda- I remember the exact same thing as a kid! It seemed like they made the seams just gigantically lumpy and they'd always scrape right across the cuticle of my big toe and dig into the side of my little toe.

I love sandals bc I dont have to wear socks!
