time loss is soooo bad! I work as a plumber on new construction and time is important. however, what happens to me is that i race to finish on time, or at least finish as quickly as i can. but between constantly looking for this or that, and forgetting what i am doing so little gets done time disappears.
in fact, i don't even have to be working hard for time to disappear. in the morning i frequently wake up early. i don't understand how it takes 10 minutes to get from 5 am to 7:30, 8 am. time just does disappear.
i forgot that it has always been like this. for many years i wrote it off as a byproduct of smoking marijuana. i realised, however, that i have always been like this. as an elementary school student, i was forever behind everyone else in completing projects in class. it was not for lack of intelligence. i was always at the top of my classes. at least in understanding the material. completing projects and homework were my downfall in terms of grades.
i have also realised at the age of 41, that i am add. i deeply believe that this is the reason that i do smoke the devil-weed. i have no desire to use any other substance. except caffeine. but the reasons are add. weed slows my brain down almost enough that i can keep up with my thoughts.
back to the time thing- yes it disappears faster than a beer at a frat party.
I hate how time time slips away regardless of what I am doing. I could be doing anything and sooner or later I notice a month passes. I do if I'm deeply engrossed in something I'm enjoying (or even just something that keeps my attention). Happened just yesterday at work. Things slowed WAY down around 2 o'clock, my co-workers were gripeing how slow time passes when it gets slow, I went off and found something to do on my own. Zing! It was 5 o'clock. I actually had to RUSH to finish what I was doing. Happens to me ALL the time!! I swear, my life has just flown by without me! Ugh...not really, I do sometimes get distracted with something then look at the clock and say OH sh*tE but, I know where the time wentI get caught in a warp bouble when I am in a german class.... and other times the time just warps away...When I first checked my watch I had plenty of time before work. Now its 6 AM. What happened?? <cry>Oh yeah, I'm so afraid that one day I'll wake up, realize I'm 97 years old and wonder what the heck happened to my life!
