mom in need of helpI was diagnosed with ADD when i was like 6 and it was always a issue for me,I was always in special classes and such but my mom would never put me on medication to help me.I am now a mom of 2 one with ADHD combined type and one with suspected ADD and I just recently started back to school and I am struggling badly.I mentioned this to my doctor and she put me on strattera 40 mg for 3 days then 80 mg after that,it is not helping me with what i need help with(consintration and comprehension),it is just making me very sick to my stomach and very tired and i have even tried taking at night time and it keeps me up sick.i know all medications work different on others people but do you have any suggestions on what i can try to help me with these issues.I mean i really want to get my degree but at this rate it is not going to happen so please help me out if you have any suggestions. Thanks so much! Sandra I take Adderall and it works wonders for me. It's only been 3 weeks so time will tell, but I know a lot of others have success with it as well.Strattera can take up to 6 weeks to be fully effective as it is a blood level medication. I have heard from others that it can take a few days but most of the side effects do go away. If they do not subside after 10 days I would definetely contact your doctor. I also am taking Adderall. It has helped me also. I have been taking it for about 6 months. I am still adjusting the dosage but things have improved. Best Wishes, Gettingagrip |
