Introduction | ADHD Information

Hi Sara. I wish I some information to help ya out with the depression part. I have been on Zoloft for several months(asked for an antidepressant after my mother's death)-but after all of this time on it I couldn't tell that it was doing anything for me, so I started researching depression and ran across adult ADD. I realized I had all of the symptoms and had for a long time-really long time. I am 31 years old. My doctor has agreed to refer me for testing...so I am waiting on that. I have read a lot online about ADD and depression often occuring together...and sometimes doctors overlooking the ADD diagnosis and only treating the depression, which most things I have read say that doesn't work well.

Hope some of the others can shed some light on it for you from their experiences.

Hi I'm Sara and I'm new here.  I have adult ADD was diagnosed as a Sophomore in College.  I started taking Adderall then and am currently not taking anything.  I'm 26 years old and I think it's time I take the plunge and start on some kind of meds.  I'm causing trouble in my relationship because of my ADD and all that jazz...  I'm unhappy and just plain stubborn...  I hate taking meds and I hated Adderall because I lost a lot of weight on it and coming off of it was just toooo much...

Not sure where to start etc...  Thought about Straterra but still thinking about it.  I also thought about just dealing with my depression to see if that would help...  Any ideas?
