If she is getting tics from the medication (eyes twitching) I would contact her doctor right away. It doesn't sound like the right medication for her.
You say she has been on many different meds but don't mention which ones. I am assuming you didn't have any luck with the others which is why you switched. I don't personnaly have any experience with Ritalin LA.
My son is taking Adderall XR 10 mg and Strattera 40 mg. He was first prescribed only Adderall XR 15 mg. He couldn't get to sleep on that dose and then was very tired and zombie-ish during the day. We cut him down to 10 mg of Adderall XR. That stopped the sleep problems but didn't adequately relive the ADHD symptoms. The combination has worked well for us. The Strattera takes care of the remaining ADHD symptoms while not causing any sleeplessness. It also takes care of the rebound effect he was having when the adderall wore off. He had been getting kind of angry for a few hours. Now the only symptoms are the hyperactivity returning when the Adderall wears off. Stattera can actually cause drowsiness and most people give it at night. My son had the opposite reaction after a few months on the med so we switched to the morning along with the Adderall and things have been going well since then. That was about 10 months ago.

We are now going to try 18mg 2 times daily on Strattera because 25 mg is causing sleepy afternoons.Sleep problems cut out all refined carbs at dinner time. This will make you sleep. Herb teas also great no sideffects in the mornings also.
