Teacher isn’t challenging | ADHD Information

A lot of it has to do with all the distractions in school too.  I know I couldn't get math  at all in the classroom of course I was out of school for a year and had tutors and was wizzing through all the asignments. It's not that the kids aren't smart enough to do these things it's mainly the excitement and distraction of doing it with 30 other kids. < =""> I agree. Our son can't read well do to tracking difficulties. This is being able to follow words across the page with out loosing his place. This keeps his reading slow.We are busy vision training his eyes so eventually he can. Couldn't do any of this until this was started. He also doesn't eye team also. Lacks using both eyes together. Found out in Kindergarden now in third.daniel's mom38454.3485300926Yeah so true... the more you can do at home the better. It's so easy to get distracted in class. Make sure you are having regular meetings with the teacher to discuss his progress. He may need tutoring in the future, but it sounds like he has a fantastic mum! Good on you for supporting him, he will thank you for it later onMy kindergartener is displaying one level of ability at home and a much lower level of ability at school.  This is particularly true in reading.  I've explained to his teacher what he is able to read at home independently and seek her input on why he's reading so much lower at school and she really doesn't offer any input.  I can't tell yet whether it's my son choosing to the "easier" road that requires less focus on his part since the teacher is accepting that or if the teacher just isn't at all in tune with the idea that sometimes you have to challenge a student with ADHD in order to find out what they are truly capable of.  Probably a combination of both.  It's been frustrating.  Any suggestions?
