Have none of you people ever heard of MacDonalds? No cooking, no plates or dishes to wash, no knives or forks...
MacDonalds is the best thing to come out of America (it's just a shame it's junk).
1. cook with a recipe? or food in a box/fast food/eat at a restaurant?

2. do your own dishes? or paper plates?
Thank God my boyfriend does the dishes.
3. do your own laundry? or have someone else do
it/pay someone to do it/never remember to do it & end up hand
washing a pair of socks before work?
Uh... see the answer to question #2. I am a very lucky woman. In return for all his domestic duties, my boyfriend is often rewarded with a fabulous meal.
4. use plastic organizer boxes/shelving etc? or just shove it all in a drawer/cardboard box/shove it in the closet?
Both - I use plastic containers, but they are shoved in closets, corners, and under cupboards all over the apartment.
Just curious which of these apply to you?
1. cook with a recipe? or food in a box/fast food/eat at a restaurant?
None of the above. Use a recipie to get ideas sometimes, but never follow one. Cook at home, always.
2. do your own dishes? or paper plates?
Do my own, but far and few between washes.
Wish I could afford paper plates!
3. do your own laundry? or have someone else do it/pay someone to do it/never remember to do it & end up hand washing a pair of socks before work?
Do my own, but not as often as I should...yep, end up handwashing items!
4. use plastic organizer boxes/shelving etc? or just shove it all in a drawer/cardboard box/shove it in the closet?
Shove in closet or boxes...but mostly in piles!! Then I spend hours looking at piles but never motivated enough to put away or GIVE AWAY!

McDonald's the best thing to come out of America? Ouch, Mark. You must really hate us
No, I quite like Yanks, that's why I hang out on this board instead of the UK one. Maybe I should have put a wink in my post...
I'm moving to England at the end of this month, am I better than McDonald's?
Dunno. What would you be like supersized with extra fries?

we usually go to fast food restaurants, because we are too lazy to cook and ACTUALLY have enough money, for the first few days after payday....
then our paycheck starts to dwindle down, and we realize we need to buy groceries before we are completely out of moolah.
Then after we buy groceries, we usually cook because we no longer have any money left to eat out, and it's either get off of our butts and cook, or starve...
And then after the next payday, the whole cycle starts all over again.
1. cook with a recipe? or food in a box/fast food/eat at a restaurant?
Both... it depends how busy I am, but I tend to go through
bouts of cooking (sometimes too much food!) and then go the other way
and eat out too much... I go back to cooking when I start to see my
bank account dwindle.
2. do your own dishes? or paper plates?
My own dishes, always. I have a dishwasher, but seldom need it
because I'm single and dont make a lot of mess. I'm kind of a
hippie/environmentalist so I never even think about buying disposable
dishes or silverware, it just doesn't enter my mind.
3. do your own laundry? or have someone else do it/pay someone to do
it/never remember to do it & end up hand washing a pair of socks
before work?
I do my own because it's too much to remember for someone else to
do it. My system is easy: when the bin starts to overflow, I throw the
top part in and wash that. Often forget to put it into the next cycle,
though...
4. use plastic organizer boxes/shelving etc? or just shove it all in a drawer/cardboard box/shove it in the closet?
Heh. For a long time I had an extra tiny room that had a small
table, a futon, and a huge pile of all my clothes on the floor, but I
got a dresser from freecycle finally and am using it like a normal
person!
I try very hard to structure my life and not let things get to
the point where they're overwhelming. It's too hard playing catch-up
when I'm confused all the time as it is!
1. cook with a recipe? or food in a box/fast food/eat at a restaurant? Boxes always Stouffers meat loaf, turkey & gravy, salisbury steak, create a meal, gordon fisherman fish sticks, lunchables, kids cuisine for the kids, chinese or fast food if it is in the budget.
2. do your own dishes? or paper plates?
I own plates, but insist on using paper, who wants to waste time washing dishes. My husband thought he would get me to wash dishes by refusing to fix the dishwasher, You can ask him yourself who has the dishpan hands in the family.
3. do your own laundry? As soon as I can afford a someone to do it, I will. right now my laundry is spread into piles in the hallway ( the clean ones). The rest has buried the laundry room and I am unable to close the door (dirty ones)
4. use plastic organizer boxes/shelving etc? or just shove it all in a
drawer/cardboard box/shove it in the closet?
You can tell I am at war with my husband about this, I am insisting on organizers, he thinks it is a waste of money, needless to say, the clothes that are not in the piles, are stuffed in the drawer and cover the closet floor. He just bought me a closet organizer Sat, but wont put it up until I clean the closet out.
