Homeopathy | ADHD Information

I have given my daughter Calms Forte but she does not have ADHD.  Just was having trouble sleeping and it helped. In fact I take it when I am having a restless night as well.  It works. we use homeopathy for our son.  we have had amazing results and he continues to improve daily!!

i would recommend that you see a classical homeopath-one who will take your child's case and prescribe one remedy at a time.  the  combination remedy you mentioned may or may not work for your child.

good luck,

I'm not sure about the homepathy however I do know that my son takes Ritalin at night however he can not take it past 6 pm, otherwise he will be up most of the night. He's 12 so his bedtime is at 9. Try givin a time limit on what time you give it to her and see if that helps her sleep. I'm not sure what your schedule is but if it is anything like mines it is very hard to give it before that time seeing as i get off at 5:30 and he needs to eat prior to takin it but my childcare provider gives it to him. And so far that works. It just depends on the child, my son's physician has a son with ADHD and takes Ritalin and has the total opposite reaction, he cant sleep without takin his night dose of Ritalin.KPPY--what kinds of things are you giving your son.  i have been loooking for a "good" homeopathist, but think I may have to go to a naturopath instead--due to location.  Thanks will'smom,

i will pm  and tell you my homeopath's e-mail.  homeopathy is very individualized and what worked for my child will most likely not work for yours.

have you read, "ritalin free kids"  dana ullman.  do a google search on homeopathy and adhd.  i spent alot of time educating myself before i hooked up with my homeopath-still learning too!

Wondering if anyone out there has tried to treat childhood ADHD with homeopathy? I was doing research on the web and found a product by Hyland's called Calms Forte 4 Kids. My daughter has trouble falling asleep at night after taking Ritalin. This Hyland's product supposedly helps calm kids down at night so they can fall asleep naturally.

Anyone tried this before? Our son (now almost 7) has been diagnosed with ADHD and PDD-NOS. He started having temper tantrums at age 3 and was disruptive in class. At the end of Kindergarten, he started taking Stratera. Unfortunately, the Stratera only increased his arguemenative and whiney side. In first grade, he has been taking Adderall XR (5 mg and then 10 mg), but we are just getting ready to switch him to Concerta because in his words the Adderall makes him "grumpy".   It has been a period of trial and error, but the one thing we have had success with has been giving him melatonin at bed time. He has always been a restless sleeper and cycled through periods approx every 3 weeks where he would cry at night for 3-4 nights in a row. He has taken 1 mg of melatonin one hour before bedtime now for almost two months and it has really helped him have a more restful night of sleep.   He has only cried one night in two months which is a considerable decrease.   I think he was a troubled sleeper to begin with, but the Adderall really made it difficult for him to get the rest he needs. Luckily the melatonin has helped. It is a natural product - I buy it at our local natural foods store. Hope this helps.
