Concerta 36mg & Weird Side Effects | ADHD Information

Share

Hello everyone I was wondering if anyone had any dizzines almost to the point of fainting side effects while being on Concerta?

I have been on Concerta 36mg once a day for the past 5 days as of today. The first 2 days on the medication I was jittery and anxious but that went away. I did sleep fine those first 2 days on the meds., but now I am having difficulty sleeping at night. Now I fall asleep around 1-2 am. But I am up at 6:30 am. like if I would have slept all night. I am not tired during the day and I function well at work and at school. I feel focused and energetic, although I am really thirsty and I drink alot of water during the day. NOW what is worrying me and scaring me is what happened to me yeaterday. I almost fainted in the stores, I started feeling dizzy and I held on to pole that was there until it was over. Well so I thought, as I take my first step foward I started to walk backwards ready to fall on the floor and passout. My husband grabbed me and sat me down I rested for 15 mins. and then when it was over I got up. Today same thing happened I was walking to my car and I started to feel dizzy and started moving backwards and fell on my car. I held on to my car until it was over and then sat down in my car and waited there until I felt better. I then left but I was feeling real dizzy. Has anyone experienced this if so please give me some feedback. I am going to call my Dr. tommorrow and let her know what is going on, but any feedback will help Thanks!!!!!
Hi Shutter Bug! (Some
real name. ) Anyway, may I ask at what dosage you were
started? Also, another member posted some of these symptoms at first,
and it ended up they had the flu. Not that I want you to be ill but that
would be better than these being side effects of Concerta.

However, the anxiety/panic, etc. could also be the dosage is too high for
you. Is this the first med you've tried for AD/HD? Were you formally
diagnosed? There's always the possibility you may not be ADHD.???

I agree with your friends, and would stop the medication and talk with
your doctor. You don't have to wean off Concerta, just stop taking it.

Good luck.
I was started at 27 and that wasn't
working. My doctor and online said that I could get sick easily (but not in
those words). The panic/anxiety attack could also have been me trying to
get used to the higher dosage. I had taken adderall XR before and I was
formally diagnosed (was given a test for ,000 and was done by a
profesional) Oh I wish I wasn't ADHD (I turly do)

I want to stop taking concerta except I need medication to help me
achieve better grades and to use my full potential toi my advantage.

I'm taking the same medication and feeling the same (but not as badly) as you. Im not sure when I started taking it (about a week ago) and I was burning up but felt cold, dizzy, swollen throat, anxiety or panic attack, felt as if I were going to throw up each time I swallowed. I can't sleep, can't wake up, it wares off to easily and lack of concentration.

Maybe you need get used to it? But if its that bad, you should probably call your doctor. People have told me I should get off it if it makes me that bad. Good luck and hope it goes well.
