Ritalin LA -20 mg BAD headaches?

I just started ritalin LA 20mg one time a day i am 5 foot 3 inches and a little over weight is this a high enough dose?The reason im asking because i like the effect and it helps me for oh say 5 hours and then i have a headache,

i have been having headaches a lot latley and even a little sore neck from it,.Please any suggestions.

You most likely have a headache because you are withdrawing from the meds. It's very common in stimulant meds. Some people get headaches, some get very cranky, emotional etc. You should talk to your doctor, Sometimes you need to switch to another med or add another dose so the effects of the meds last longer.

Ideally you'd want the meds to last at least through your work day. You didn't say how long you've been taking the meds but there is also an adjustment period that kind of knocks your body out of wack for awhile. I know whenever I adjust my dose I have side effects (with me it's stomach problems) for the first two weeks then everything gets back to normal and the meds work great. < ="">

Before I started taking meds I used to drink 6 cups of coffee a day. when I started Ritalin I quit drinking coffee than I got headaches so when I get them I drink a cup of coffee, for me that helps! I take 60mg of Ritalin LA

Wow..that seems like a lot - is that the norm/average? Do you suggest trial and erro in finding the right meds and strength? I will be seeing my doctor on the 20th and want to see if she is still willing to start me on ritalin. IF she is what type of Rit works good, and dosages? can you take smaller dosses twice a day so you do not have the symptoms of withdrawl, or the mood swings?

How soon should one exptect to feel the difference from the time taking the pill?

I've been on Ritalin for about 8 years so when they switched me(the reason I switched was for convenience sake once a day versus 3 times a day) to Ritalin La they gave me the same dose I was taking. 2 30mg tablets in the am. For me The first day I started taking the Ritalin I felt it it was like I drank a few cups of coffee & was I ever focused. Best of luck to you!
