I am in a 3 yr old relationship, 1 yr married. To put it as delicately as possible, is addiction to (s) in the catagory of  obsessive - compulsive behavior common? This is "solo" behavior also. I'm pretty lost here.  He's 43. The diagnosis is new, only about 2 wks old.

It is not uncommon to have some addiction to something that strikes the serious interest.  I can't say that it is that, but that is a very interesting part of life, so it is possible.  Did you know about it before yall got married, or was he able to control and hide this?  Or is it since you are married you thought things would settle down afterwards?

Now if I have read this wrong please tell me.

I have ADD w/o HD, been married 10 years this March, we been together for 14 years, and my obsessiveness to learn as much as possible in all facets of the (s) area, has scared my Sweetie a little.  I have since been able to curb it to an extent for I also have other time consuming interest/addictions.

Well if he is 43, then hope yall deal well with it, shouldn't change yalls relationship if you been together for 3 years.  Warn you, some of the meds will change him, but you might lose some of the things that you liked about him.  Course this part of this post would be better in Meds.
