my 16 yr old daughter has a very hard time with taking a test... at her school she can have someone read it to her..because not only is she adhd but she has a learning disability in reading. anyways i was wondering if there is anyone who's child won't ask for help... my daughter is taking a written test for drivers ed. tonight and i think she was up half the night trying to study.. i hope she passes but i have a feeling she won't. because she won't ask fo help. her teacher told her he would read the test to her and she got so mad at me for saying anything to him.

and she pasted her driving test on the 1st try

Congratulations to your daughter and Im sure you are one proud Mom!

Hi Sheri.M,

At your daughters age it is very embarrasing to as for help on things like that. Most kids are worried about what others think and so cuaght up in what people will say about her. You and the teacher(s) need to get together and look for a way to help her. If she is in a regualr class setting you may want to get and IEP and take her out of that setting and place her in Special Ed where her needs can be met, a place where she will not feel the need to close up and not let anyone help her. I hope this helps and please keep me posted on her progress.

sarah is in special ed classes.and she pasted her driving test on the 1st try... i am so proud of her.
