should I stop taking Dex? | ADHD Information
Well, I was
diagnosed with Add when i was 8 years old and I have been on and off
ritalin for years but last year I desided that I wanted to try to take
Dexedrine. That I realize my heart rate somtimes does increase but this
ussually after work and school and after the drug is wearing off. I
also have noticed sometime I get chest pains (maybe 1 out of every 15
days i take it) and I get very tired and cranky and I get this tingling
feeling at the top of my scalp and fingertips. I also somtimes get
consitpation and I have noticed that my eyes are slighly blured than
they used to be and i also get sore eyes...I have talked to my doctor
who has checked my heart beat and blood pressure many times and he says
I am fine but I am kind of worried about this! Anyone else have this
symtoms? Some input, advise or stories would be greatly appriciated.

How old are you? What dose of dex What dose ritalin / time of day?
I found that with dexedrine it is more important that I get enough sleep
and eat food regularly.
Hello there alohashirt
you mentioned this to me in one of my posts earlier and I would like to thankyou as even tho I've only been on dex for a short period of time, the eating and sleeping bit is important info...but hard to do!!!!
Psycho-cat17 i've only been on dex for about 5 weeks and have only just recovered fro the side effects of diarrhoea, nauea, general wooziness, out of sorts, dry moth and lips, insomnia and decreased appetite. These are all still there but MUCH less noticeable and annoying. Still find the insomnia gets to me about every third night, but i think I was like taht prior to the diagnosis and medicatio, its just that now I can't handle going without the sleep, as Alohashirt has mentioned, and I think that without the glucose going to the brain I get sad and cranky.
i'm only on a very light dose and am planning to increase over the next few days.
