Well, because its a blood level medication its a ramp effect. It can take up to 8 week depending on the individual but the point is, dont just stop after two weeks because you think its not working. That is why its so important to be treated by a clincian trained in the field treating disorders as you are doing because doctors who are not well versed may not know the protocals for these medications and switch you to another med before knowing whether straterra could really be effective.

My son is on it. Love it . Take after full stomach only. Report all problems to Dr. we are split dosing because before was falling as sleep on 25mg at once. Now on 18 2 times daily.is this an expensive med? Dr. gave my samples to start out on. thanks-any weight gain with this med?

Where did you get that information? I ask because my doctor told me two-three days tops for it to kick in. It did appear to help me in the first week or so BUT I had taken a few of my daughter's Adderall in the two days before I began to take the Stratterra. I wonder ...
I take strattera and it took a good month for full effects to kick in. I also lost 17 pounds.I got the sleepiness the first day, however, the actual effect of Strattera could take 2 weeks...according to my Psychiatrist.My 5 year old dd has been on Strattera for almost one month now. At about the three week mark we started to notice some changes. We are continuing to notice as time passes. Our psychiatrist said the same thing...it could take up to 6 weeks to get full results. She also told us that each time you up the dose (on your way to the target dose) it is like starting all over.
