My son is 10 and has been taking Zoloft since age 7 and Adderall since age 8. We are now just realizing the combination has negative side effects when the Adderall wears off in the evening. We are calling the doctor on Monday to discuss weaning him off of the Zoloft to see how his anxiety is without it. Our Clinical Psychologist, who we just saw this past Thursday, wants us to up the dosage of Adderall, which may help with the anxiety on its' own.
the zoloft most likely doesnt do what the stimulant doesnt because stimulants and zoloft are two different medicines for two different perposes. i take zoloft and adderal, they are very different, and most kids with adhd will get depression if they dont already have it.
