goldenmoment,

Thank you for your  universial studios story! it is without doubt a ADHD moment
adventure. if i told you It is the best laugh i've had all day well it's True.
Your children are So lucky to have you as their Mom. "Good on You girl".

My boyfriend and I drove down to Disneyland a couple of years ago, and I was so impressed that they had an express line system. You could use your regular park admission pass to print "express line" passes on select rides. The catch was that you could only print one every 4 hours or something, and the pass had a half hour window printed on it that told you when you could come back (usually hours away).

The first ride we went on was the Indianna Jones ride. It was so awesome that we got an express pass to ride it again later. It was so nice passing that HOUR long line the second time around. LOL.
No longer ashamed to keep this inside me.

You all are great!! Usually I'm good with letting things roll off of my shoulder, but we probably have memories of things that we wish we could go back in time and change.

I gotta tell this. I don't know about any of you but for me to stand in a snail paced moving line is torture. Also keep in mind that not just me, but both of my children have ADHD.

I saved like the dickens and took the three of us to Universal Studios in Florida 3 summers ago, before we were even diagnosed (I'm laughing as I type this, out loud)

We stayed at the Hard Rock hotel inside the park, which we loved. That place is great. However, for staying there we get these cards/passes that say we can use an EXPRESS line and not wait in the regular 4 mile long lines to ride a two minute ride. That really worked well for our attention spans and appealed to us.

However, when we went to the ride, for the 8th time on the third day at the cool BACK TO THE FUTURE ride/thingie, on that day and for some reason, their EXPRESS line wasn't working. (Here's where it gets so immature and shameful but I'm laughig so much right now) My kids and I tried REALLY hard to stay in the regular line that looked like it could reach across the state of Florida. That went well for the first five minutes, and my kids had far less patience and restraint then I did. Finally, the kids and I just took out our cards and busted up to the front of the line!! Talk about mad people behind us!--AND WE DIDN't CARE!! The guy in charge of the ride told us we couldn't do it, but we showed our EXPRESS cards and my son said he wasn't leaving. He said it wasn't fair we couldn't use an express line.

The guy got on his radio for security! We said we were staying and going on the ride next. Pretty soon this securty guy comes from a secret passage door way thingie and tells us to come with him. I think we're getting thrown out and so did everyone behind us and were glad!

Then to make me feel totally like a dweeb, they take us to the ride to ride it but set us in like some kind of mentally unpredictable person area with two security guards near us just watching us. Then when the ride was ready for more people to take part in it, they walked us to it first, before other's from the "NORMAL and SAFE" people's line.

The only reason I guess I didn't care too much was because I knew I'd never see those people again. I was embarassed but the kids said they weren't!! My kids held their heads with pride, but I was slightly embarassed after the fact and then my youngest wanted to ride it again. HECK NO! Besides, they would have probably thrown us out if we pulled that crap no less then one minute after exiting the ride area, so we just went back to the Men In Black Ride.

Maybe you had to be there.
