Mike have you had any problems with addiction because that could be a serious reason of why he wont prescribe adderall or concerta.  Your age may also have soemthing to do with it I remember a pyschaiatrist telling me he didnt like prescribing adderall or concerta to kids who havent started puberty, I hit it earlier than most so he let me take it but your age could be a factor, not all doctors feel that way but some do because they are known to slow down growth and development.  Hi Mike.........Straterra is a blood level medication so my suggestion is to contact your phamacist to see if you have to be weaned off of it Is your doctor a specialist in the field of treating ADHD  and why is it that he didnt want to put you on ritilan or adderal? With stimulant medications, everyone responds differently in terms of medication and dose so what works good for one person doesnt necesarrily work good for the other. When first starting ADHD medications, the patient goes through a trial of meds to see which one is the most effective with the least  amount of side effects so it could take a while. I do know that stimulant medications can be stopped immediatlely but with regard to straterra, check with your doctor or pharmacist. Hope this helps.

I've been taking Strattera for about 6 1/2 weeks now. After 4 weeks, I saw my doctor.  I told him I didnt notice any improvement. The only noticable difference was that I was more irritable. He switched my dosage from 40 to 60mg. Two & a half weeks later. Still no improvement in my concentration & I blew up at my daughter tonight like I did before I started taking prozac 20 months ago.  Im also sweating like a pig on a daily basis.  My questions are this.  I want to quit taking it.  Can I just quit tomorrow? The other being my doctor said he didnt want to prescribe ritalin or adderrall.  What would  you recommend. Any help will be appreciated. At this point Im just sure Strattera isn't for me.
