Do you enjoy conversations like this? | ADHD Information

Every now and again, I have a conversation with someone that starts out about some everyday topic, say about a table or something.

The conversation goes on for a few hours without a break, covering several different topics but they flow seemlessly.... one topic to the next and at the end of this long chat, you find you were last talking about say... life on Mars!

I really enjoy these types of conversations...its really freeing to go where my mind takes me and speak it out loud! I kind of get a happy high someone else understands and enjoys this kind of conversation as much as I do.

It always amazes me later when I think of the first topic and were the conversation finally ended up.  Great fun to see how we took all those different thoughts  and found a way to relate them to each other!

However, many people who observe these conversations think the people involved are nuts and usually don't get the connections and flow of what we, in the conversation, seem to understand perfectly and harmoniously.

So, am I alone in this? Am I weird, weird or just ADD weird, which I think is good.

Yah...thats exactly right...actually that's how I've initially met a few of my best friends the first time. Its a rare thing to be understood.

I find these types of people to be interesting instead of a drag!

We can relate.Ever have a 4 hour phone conversation like this? I talked both of my portable phones to death one night. My husband doesn't understand. He says, "What on earth could you talk about to one person for 4 hours straight?" At that point the next morning, well, I can't really remember all that we talked about, but nonetheless it was great. Makes for a very groggy day, though! Jen
