Type of Doctor? | ADHD Information

I'm going to a woman who has a PhD in Clinical Psychology today for the first time.  It's been difficult trying to find someone who knows about ADD.  I haven't been diagnosed yet but have been reading about it here and I KNOW it's what I am dealing with and have been hiding from for a long, long time.  Is this the type of doc. you all have seen?Your welcome Honeybunch.......good luck and keep us postedDefinitely, this is a great msg. board - it's already been extremely helpful and the insight I now have is valuable.  I'm sure once I have my appt. and know what is going to happen with meds, etc. I'll have a lot of questions for everyone.  Hi Honeybunch..........you would probably get better results if you have yourself assessed intially by a psychiatrist. The psycholigst would be able to diagnose you but if you decide to go the medication route, only  a psychaitrist can write prescriptions. Hope this helpsThat just helped A LOT.  I don't need to waste my time from work having someone tell me yep, this is what you have and then have to go to someone else to get the necessary medication.  I just went on-line to find a psychaitrist and will hopefully, finally, get answers and direction to get me straightened out.  Thanks so much!!
