Should I do this? | ADHD Information

Melaleuca is only .to start and . every year after. Must buy products monthly. We love them. I am also going to stuff envelopes pays .. per envelope. Advertising for companies. cost 35. to start. We also just bought a snow cone stand that we will do on saturdays and holidays.

I was standing at the bus stop talking to a guy I know telling him that me & my boyfriend were going to go to this free seminar just to check it out. A lady standing next to us asked me if it was Willow I was talking about. I asked her how she knew, and she said because she signed up but her computer failed the test. I asked her how she learned about that company & she said her neice just retired after working for them a few years & she wanted to try it too.

Um...I'm going 8)

Quit your job *after* you are sure you can make money consistently! Do both until that time!

Yes, I want to stay on the safe side until I am sure I can bring a good income. I will do this at night until I have the hang of it. The good news is if I don't feel like working at a certain time I can just not log on to take calls until later. Sitting at home not having someone looking over my shoulder is the ultimate work. And I can come in late when I feel like it.

Reizende- ever tried those "application processing" work from home things or the online surveys?
I don't know anyone who has tried these. I was looking on craigslist for a job, and saw something about how each application you process is 20$ (sounds too good), and you need to pay about 35$ to start.
I was considering it for a moment, but I'm not sure exactly what processing an application involves, or whether they provide you with enough applications to make it worth it
I have never heard of a legit envelope stuffing, app processing, survey jobs yet. I have tried most & a lot either make you stuff the same letter you read & paid to start, or the app processing or survey thingies make you accumulate before you get a check. Like 25 cents for each one? I gave up on those.

I don't know why people pay so much money for reborn dolls, but they do, most are doll collectors.

it's really not that hard, it's just a matter of having the right tools...if you have the wrong glues, and the wrong paint, then you will end up with a bang up job...But if you get one specific kind of glue, found at any art/hardware store, and make sure you use oil based paints, and NOT acrylic, then it's really just a matter of knowing what color to put where on the doll to "blush" it.  People even use lipsticks because they are oil based, and vinyl can only be properly painted with oil based paints. Then do the eyes, and the hair, and put a realistic body on the thing, and you're done.  You can find eyes anywhere on the net, and you have to make sure you get the right size...  I like www.miniworlddolls.com and www.bountifulbaby.com .  Both of these sights have everything you need.  You would be surprised just how realistic just a few simple steps can make just a regular play doll look.

oh,...ok, i'm rambling. sorry...reborning dolls is something I love to do, and I tend to ramble about the things I love.

sonya_h38469.7733564815Reizende,

First, do you get calls at home from people who want to do surveys on the phone with you? Have you given them your time? I know I don't like calls like that myself. You may make many, many calls a day before you even contact someone who is willing. And that is how you are paid...by the number of calls "completed." And the amount paid depends whether you do one of their 5-min, 10-min, 15-min calls. And you don't have the choice to do all 15-min calls.

I signed up for one of these once, cost me at the time 0 for the materials. Also, in order to speak with my 'contact' with the company, it was a long distance call. When I tried calling the center who signed me up, I couldn't get through to them. And they were also approved by the BBB.

I agree also with all the above posts.

If you're a good/fast typist, you could post a card at colleges, etc. to type papers for students. Just an idea, one I've thought about myself, but you know how the procrastination goes.
Okay, are there any legitimate work at home companies? Florida seems pretty lacking.
I know nothing about that, sorry.  Have you thought about doing a bit of selling on eBay?  Go to a few sales, buy some things that would probably have some value - but to a limited number of people.  eBay will allow you to reach those people.

I've often thought about doing this myself, but you know how it is, procrastination and all that...

I have spent the last 10 years trying to find a way to work at home. 8( With no success.I used to sell silk bridal bouquets on eBay and make an extra 0 a month. It's just a ton of committment & responsiblity. I could start doing it again though.

I have a cousin who is somewhat of an expert on dolls.  She goes to garage sales and auctions, picks up Barbies and stuff like that, and then sells them on eBay.  I'm not saying you should go into the doll business, but selling stuff on eBay is good way to work from home.  Just pick something to sell that you know something about.

You could also check Craiglist in your area for work at home opportunities.

I don't like it.  Here are the red flags:

You have the *potential* to make - per hour, which is not great to begin with. How many hours per week can you work? five? ten? zero?

You have to pay them 0 just to begin! That means that at a minimum, you have to work 40 hours for free. Yuck!

This sounds like one of those decisions in life people call a *learning experience*. I'd steer clear of it.
Okay, are there any legitimate work at home companies? Florida seems pretty lacking.

What Floofthegoof says.

Lots of danger signals there..

Hi - I haven't heard of this company, so I am not sure if they are legit, but I think it is definitely worth looking into. I knew a lady who starting doing a call center type thing from home and it was very profitable for her. Actually, she set up a call station in her home for her and one for her daughter. They both worked out of the home and loved it. I definitely considered doing it, but my problem is that I have two small children at home (2 years and 8 months) and I was afraid that they would always be crying or talking to me while I was on the phone. (Everytime I am on the phone this house brakes into a 3 ring circus.) If I were you I would definitely check it out though. Jen

I checked it with the Better Business Bureau and them seem legitimate. I am not just not sure where to get the money for all the setup stuff. This sure seems like the perfect thing for an ADDr to do. Should I do this? I could be sitting at home all day bringing in money on my phone. I don't know. I am leaning towards yes, but I want some other opinions first. Their office is near me. Tell me what you think.

I agree about Ebay. I have been selling from home for a couple years now and it is very profitable if you learn the ropes. I have a toddler and it enables me to work when I want and have slow weeks if things are too busy. I buy my stuff at garage sales that I frequent on the weekends and also sell stuff for my friends/family. I love the convenience and money, but it takes a while to know what sells. I did most of my research from just surfing the eBay site. I make as much as I would if I worked outside the home part time (I have a business degree) AND I don't have to pay for child care. Let me know if you have questions. Becky

Does anyone here sell their art on Ebay?

That looks like it could really bring in some money...

just do a search on ebay for "reborn dolls"...and then arrange the list so that the highest priced items are listed first...

some of those folks take regular dolls from the store and "reborn" them, and they end up selling for like hundreds of dollars...

I would not mind doing this...

or making and selling clay dolls that I make...

I JUST CAN'T FINISH ANY FREAKIN THING THAT I START!!

sonya_h38469.4366203704

oh, i didn't explain that did i?

A reborn doll is a regular play doll that has been rebuilt....

Let me explain...Most vinyl play dolls for children are very simply made, few details, made to withstand children's play.

Well, if you get the right tools, then you can do things like, remove the eyes, and purchase more realistic eyes, root hair into a bald head, use oil paints and dyes and you can make the doll come "alive" and look much more realistic.  You can even dismantle the doll and put a more realistic body on it.  If you are really good at it (and IF YOU CAN ACTUALLY MANAGE TO FINISH ANYTHING, I CAN'T!!) then they can sell for lots of money.

There is a lot about it on www.prillycharmin.com

You can do this to any doll, but the ones that tend to sell for more are "Berenguers" and other collectors dolls that the original would sell for very high priced anyway.

If you just go on Ebay and search reborn dolls, or reborn berenguers, or something like that, you can see just how beautiful some people can make them.

I want to try, but as I mentioned some few months ago, I have doll heads, and limbs, and eyes, and some of everything else scattered all over the place, and I can't manage to actually finish one.

BUT they sell OTHER art items on ebay also...

does anyone here create art and sell their artwork on ebay?

sonya_h38469.5807291667Most people don't realize it, but the Better Business Bureau is one of the biggest scams around.  They solicit businesses to join (by paying a fee), telling them that if they do, they will be listed as an honorable, reputable business.  A Better Business Bureau listing is available to any business willing to pay their fee.   what's a reborn doll
Most people don't realize it, but the Better Business Bureau is one of the biggest scams around.  They solicit businesses to join (by paying a fee), telling them that if they do, they will be listed as an honorable, reputable business.  A Better Business Bureau listing is available to any business willing to pay their fee.
But anyone can file a complaint with the BBB against any of the businesses listed. If you look up a company's file, it will state the number of complaints received (if any), and then break it down into number of the complaints which have been resolved, the number which an effort was MADE to resolve, and the number not resolved.

However, people who are dissatisfied with the comapny need to actually MAKE the complaint, so the system is inheretly flawed, as most people probably wouldn't bother unless they were horribly ripped off.

WOW... I looked up "reborn doll" and arranged the list highest to lowest, and the top one had reached a bid of 0!!! And the doll looked like a REAL BABY.

I could NEVER, and I mean NEVER, put that much time and talent into such an undertaking. And I can't believe people pay that kind of money for a doll!
Well Better Business Bureau has this company listed as a business but states they are not a member of their bureau. It also says any complaints have been resolved by the company satisfactorily.
